According to the industry on April 13th, there has recently been a boycott of Korean food giant Samyang Foods's “PLUDA stir-fried noodles” in China. On April 10th, the Chinese government-owned media "Guancha" and others said, "The distribution deadline (12 months) for export products of PLUDA cooked noodles is twice as long as that for domestic products (6 months). The authorities have begun to confirm the facts."
The observer network pointed out that imported foods must comply with Chinese regulations and national food safety standards, according to Article 9 of the "Import / Export Food Safety Control Methods of the People's Republic of China" that came into effect in January. .. On top of that, "the average distribution deadline for instant noodles in China is 6 months," and "after 6 months, the fat contained in the ramen will gradually oxidize, and the peroxidation value may exceed the standard value."
After these contents were reported, Chinese internet users insisted that they were "selling the remaining products in South Korea with a double notation of the distribution deadline" and boycotted. The content posted by Chinese internet users who pointed out the distribution deadline of PLUDA stir-fried noodles attracted a great deal of attention as the number of inquiries exceeded 500 million on some SNS.
However, it turned out that this product was not really a problem. At the request of the Chinese media due to controversy, the Food Inspection Research Institute in Chengdu conducted a component inspection of three types of ramen in Samyang Foods, which has been in production for six months. It was confirmed that the value was not exceeded.
Samyang Foods also immediately set out to explain. Samyang Foods said, "We did not extend the distribution deadline only in China, but all export products have a distribution deadline of one year." He emphasized that such a difference is due to the distribution status of export products. Not only that, domestic ramen makers said that they are taking thorough measures to protect the freshness of export products because the distribution deadline of export products is longer than that for domestic demand.
