Seo Kyoung-Duk, a 47-year-old professor at Sungshin Women's University in Korea, announced on the 28th that he will start a campaign to change the English notation of Chinese New Year to "Lunar New Year."

Professor Xu explained the background of the campaign, saying that it is written as "Chinese New Year" in various places such as Google Calendar and the United Nations.

Chinatown, in major European cities, hold an annual Lunar New Year event, but the local media pointed out that it would be referred to as "Chinese New Year" when reporting relevant news. Professor Xu emphasized that "The Sol (the new year) is not only a Chinese New Year, but a day commemorated by Asian nations such as Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines, and it is correct to change it to "Lunar New Year."

The campaign is a method of providing information to Professor Xu's Instagram along with a photo when a Korean (overseas compatriot) or an international student residing overseas discovers the notation "Chinese New Year", and then related based on that information. It is said that it will send a letter to institutions and urge them to revise it.
