A Japanese extreme right group demonstrated against the "Yi Sun-sin banner" on the floor where the Korean athletes from the Tokyo Olympic Village are staying. Seeing this, Professor Seo Kyoung-Duk of Sungshin Women's University, who has been running the "Worldwide Rising Sun Flag Eradication Campaign," sent a protest email to the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games.

On the 14th of this month, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee put up a banner on the floor of the Korean athletes' team in the Olympic Village, stating that "I still have support from 50 million Korean people."

This is a document that General Yi Sun-sin enlightened the king before the naval battle "Battle of Myeongnyang" in response to the role of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Keicho. It was inspired by "I still have 12 ships and I'm not dead yet" and quickly became Hot Topic.

The Japanese side claimed that it was a violation of Article 50 of the Olympic Charter, which prohibits political acts as "anti-Japanese message," and the far-right forces also waved the Rising Sun Flag and strongly protested.

In response, the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee and the IOC have agreed not to use the Rising Sun Flag and the "Yi Sun-sin Banner" at the same time during the Tokyo Olympics. However, the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games has shown an attitude of permitting the Rising Sun Flag to be brought into the stadium.

Professor Seo told the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee, "The Korean side removed the banner after coordinating with the IOC, but it is a big mistake that the Japanese police will not stop the Japanese far-right group demonstrating in front of the building where the Korean team is staying, holding the Rising Sun Flag."

He continued, "I would like the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games to make the best efforts to prevent this through strong warnings and cautions against the Rising Sun Flag demonstration by such a far right organization."

Meanwhile, Professor Seo's team is currently conducting the "Tokyo Olympics Rising Sun Flag Extermination Campaign," and if the Rising Sun Flag is exposed inside or outside the stadium, it will provide information to major media around the world.
