On 19 March, the Marine Corps stated that "at around 9:05am, one Marine who was searching for missing persons in the area of the Sokhwan River in Homyeong Myeon-myeon, Gyeongbuk, was caught in rapids and was in the process of rescue work" and that "three Marines who were searching for missing persons in the area of the Stone Coffin River fell into the river because the ground collapsed suddenly, two of them came up by themselves but one was missing".
The unit immediately used small rubber boats to search the site and its surroundings. It is a policy to cooperate with the Air Force and fire departments and take all possible measures to rescue missing people.
On the other hand, authorities such as fire department, police, and military invested 3,630 manpower and 1,143 equipment to search for the five missing people in Recheon.
