On July 21st, during the rush hour to go home, the police were dispatched after receiving a report that there was concern about a crushing accident at Gangnam Station in Seoul, South Korea, and an incident occurred in which some entrances were restricted.

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station and other sources, around 5:47 p.m. on the same day, a call was received stating, "There are too many people at Gangnam Station, and an accident is likely to occur. This should be stopped."

Safety personnel belonging to the Seoul Transportation Corporation hurriedly set out to manage the traffic, and the police and fire departments were also dispatched. The fire department restricted Exit 12 in the direction of Yeoksam Station and staffed the remaining exits to prevent congestion. The ticket gates in the direction of Gyodae Station, where many people use the subway, also dispersed the congestion.

As of 7:00 pm, both the police and the fire department have withdrawn, and no casualties have been reported. A police official said, "It was a situation that was not much different from the usual Friday return."
