"First weekend'' after deregulation of COVID-19 ... 18,663 new cases, 1k↓ compared to the previous day = Korea
In South Korea, more than 18,000 new cases were added on June 3rd of the first weekend when the COVID-19 virus crisis alert level was revised from 'serious' to 'alarm'.

The Korea Central Epidemic Prevention Headquarters announced 18,663 new cases of COVID-19 as of midnight on the same day. The number of new infections was 1,061 fewer than the previous day (19,724) on the 2nd, bringing the cumulative total to 31,766,502.

Recently, the average number of new infections per day has reached the 10,000 mark. Looking at the number of infected people per day from May 28th, about a week ago, to this day, △ 11,730 on May 28th, △ 6,868 on May 29th, △ 13,529 on May 30th. △May 31st, 24,411 △June 1st, 24,604 △June 2nd, 19,724 △June 3rd, 18,663

Meanwhile, the disease control authorities will release daily statistics of COVID-19 cases until this date. Due to the COVID-19 crisis level lowering on June 1st, it is planned to release only weekly statistics every Monday from next week.
