Floods in China's Yunnan province kill 3 people, 1 missing
Heavy rain caused flooding in Yiliang County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, China on June 1st. The emergency management bureau of Yiliang County announced that three people from one household had died and one was missing due to the heavy rains.

According to a local media report, one of the four victims was a 63-year-old senior citizen, and three were minors. The two deceased minors, aged 12 and 2 respectively, and the missing 4-year-old girl, are believed to be the grandchildren of the deceased elderly person. The search for the missing girl is still ongoing.

Also, at a junior high school in Yira Prefecture, students living in dormitories were confined inside the building. After receiving the report, the fire rescue team rushed to the scene and started rescuing the students at around 6:00 am (local time) on the 1st. By around 7:40 a.m., all 356 students trapped in the dormitory were safely rescued and transferred to an evacuation center.

Now that the rain has stopped and the water level of the flooded river has returned to normal, rescue operations are still underway.
