Ukraine nears 500 child deaths on International Children's Day
As Ukraine marks International Children's Day on the 1st (local time), the number of children killed in the aftermath of the Russian invasion is approaching 500. Two children died in the Russian air raid on that day as well.

"In the last 15 months of war, at least 483 Ukrainian children have died and more than 1,000 have been disabled," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a speech at the International Children's Day conference the day before.

He said, "Russia has killed 483 children. (Their deaths) cannot be described as 'victims of Russian aggression' or 'deaths as a result of the armed conflict'," and condemned "Russia has killed children."
