Hangzhou, China, father and daughter who stayed in the car of a ride-hailing service for 'more than 30 hours' - in custody, Chinese press.
In Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, a father and daughter were punished for staying in a car arranged by a ride-hailing service for more than 30 hours.

The problem occurred around 2:00 pm on May 17th (local time). Mr. Wang, the driver who accepted the reservation through the dispatch service app, headed to the designated place. However, the car could not be parked at the designated place, so Mr. Wang contacted the passenger who made the reservation and told them to board from a place several dozen meters away from the reservation point.

A 54-year-old man and his 25-year-old daughter, who made the reservation, got into the car and started complaining about the driver who didn't show up at the reservation point, causing a argument. When things got worse, Mr. Wang canceled the reservation and asked the two to get out. However, they refused to get out of the car.

After receiving a report from Mr. Wang, police officers from the local police station went to the scene and tried to the two, but they did not get out of the car, insisting that they "request compensation." The two remained in the car for more than 30 hours afterward.

At around 8:00 am on the 18th, Mr. Wang confirmed that the two had not yet gotten out of the car and called the police again. The police continued to persuade them, but the two did not get off, so at 10:00 pm on the same day, they were ordered to report to the police.

The two are currently being sentenced to administrative detention.
