Pregnant woman suffer hearing loss after being beaten by man in China = Chinese coverage
Recently, a post on the Chinese Internet attracted attention after it was written that "a woman was beaten and deafened after being assaulted by a stranger in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province."

On the night of May 21st, the Zhuhai Municipal Police Department released a notice stating that "the suspect is currently in criminal custody."

At around 7 a.m. on May 5th (local time), a man persistently engaged with a woman in the lobby of a hotel in Zhuhai and touched her buttocks and other areas. When she got angry and pushed the man away, the man verbally abused and hit her.

Afterwards, Ms. A complained of hearing problems due to being beaten by the man and visited a hospital. She was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss in her left ear and was recommended to be hospitalized. At the time of the incident, Ms. A was 6 weeks pregnant.

Before the police statement was released, her boyfriend told local media, "It's been half a month since she was beaten by a man, but there has been no progress in the handling of the case, and there has been no apology or compensation from the other party. No. I hope that the police will handle the case fairly and justly."

Police said they have taken criminal custody of the suspect and are conducting a detailed investigation.
