U.S. official to include 'response to China' in G7 joint statement
The United States announced that it will include its response to China in the joint statement of the G7 summit to be held in Hiroshima from the 19th.

A senior U.S. official said at a press conference on May 18th (local time) that "the important thing is that the United States will show an unprecedented level of unified response on a wide range of issues, including China."

The official continued, "G7 leaders have recently been trying to reduce risks in the next former, which requires investment for economic dynamism and investment for securing supply chain flexibility, but the severing of relations with China is I'm showing a position that I don't want to."

"We are concerned about China's non-market policies and economic coercion, and we see the need to protect some sensitive and limited-scope technologies in terms of military modernization," the senior official said, adding "These themes will ultimately be presented in a joint statement."

"G7 leaders will step up cooperation on the China issue to a historic level."
