LG Electronics Subsidiary ZKW Partners with German Resin Manufacturing to Develop Intelligent Automobile Front
On May 11th, South Korean electronics company LG Electronics made a subsidiary of ZKW, a major Austrian automotive light company, and REHAU Automotive, a major German automotive polymer resin company. The two companies announced that they have formed a partnership to jointly develop intelligent front parts for automobiles.

Through this partnership, the two companies will construct an integrated system that includes a variety of electrical components necessary for the front, from lighting to sensors and electronic devices, and exterior materials such as bumpers. The intelligent front part developed by the two companies will be applied to electric vehicles (EVs) that do not require a radiator grill.

By reinterpreting components such as EV bumpers and headlamps, the front part of the car is reconstructed as one integrated design. Minimize joints and use lighting, logos, and sensors to create a simple and unique design. It also plans to improve safety so that people can be protected from impact.

LG Electronics is a joint venture with the automotive lighting system of the ZKW Group, the automotive infotainment system of the company's VS (Vehicle Component Solutions) business headquarters, and the Canadian automotive parts manufacturer Magna International. Based on the growth of the three core businesses of LG Magna e-Powertrain's EV powertrains, the company hopes to establish its position in the global auto parts market.
